    Hey all

I started to dig through the threads to see what information is out there but there are a lot of threads!!

My 17x-R2 specs are below. It is 1 year old now.. not really interested in buying new and selling old... I would rather upgrade - if it makes sense.

So I have the Intel i7-820 @ 1.73Ghz.. where can I go from here? I researched this a while ago and I remember the 920XM was an option, any others?

Video cards - I have dual 4870s. I guess I could get to the 5870 model, but I think i remember people saying the dual 48s would be better than a single 5870.. is this correct?

RAM - Have 8GB.. still haven't seen a huge influx of 8GB chips, does our A10 BIOS support more than 8?

I know this information is buried in here somewhere, just not easy to find sometimes.

    Thanks guys
    Mr Neutron

CPU: the best you can get is the 940xm, but it's only 133Mhz above the 920xm which performs just as well. Good 920xm ES samples can be found online for cheap.

GPUs: best config you can get is CF mobility 5870.

    The M17x R2 will not support memory above 8Gb and above 2x ~667Mhz frequency(1333Mhz).

    Cheers
