    Hello,
I asked the question in another thread but got no response so I decided to create a new one. I was wondering if you opened your system and add thermal paste on the CPU and later you decide to return it within the 21 days for a refund, would Dell notice/care that you did that? Thank you.

It seems that Dell does not care.

No, I've done the same. You'll be fine so long as you didn't damage anything. I believe they look over the whole system before sending it to the outlet.

agreed, mine even had some globbed on the pm55 heatsink and it was still accepted. they probaly just check for cosmetic issues and see if it just turns on as far as verification goes.

i've had a technician repair my system (replace motherboard) and put AS5 on for me that I had on hand. That same system has been returned without any issue.

Ah, i was referring to my old system. So far I have no complaints about my new M17x! Aside from the crappy driver support atm.
