    Hello, Chris.

Without hearing the beep I'd recommend a physical disconnection of the optical drive.
For this, a little system disassembly is in order. Once he gets the middle plate removed, he'll have access to the optical drive flat ribbon; this can be disconnected. With it unplugged he should reassemble and see if the diagnosis returns any error.

Let us know how it goes.

Wow, the beeping in that video sounds like it may be a stuck key. I know if I have a button pressed it will make that sound. Perhaps a keyboard replacement?

Threadstarter in the other thread here. Seeing as I'm currently using a USB keyboard as I have had an issue with a key for a few months (no beeping up until a few weeks ago though), is there any way to shut the laptop keyboard off completely until I can get a replacement?

You'll have to physically disconnect the ribbon, there's no option in BIOS (per example).

R2 will not power on if the keyboard isn't connected.
