    Hey guys
was cleaning out the dust from my fans and whatnot today as ive done a billion times before, and while re-attaching the cable to the sensor bar in that little clip connector, and the clip snapped off. Any idea where i could get a replacement for this, or would i have to buy a new sensor bar? Thanks

Hello, Jsucool76, you can buy the whole media bar for ~20$, the board itself is hard to find and usually costs more than that for some reason.
You can also find the connector by itself but you'll have to unsolder the old one and solder the new one.

If you just broke the latch, see if this can help you:

With some patience, there's no reason you won't be able to fix it like that ;)

The little ends of the clip that connect it in place snapped off.

I tried to unsafely power on the computer while holding the wire in place, and had no luck, I hope the cable itself didn't get damaged.

I got it. I had to tape it with the clip, I was trying without the clip.

Thanks so much for your help :)

My computer is still running slower than Grandma's competing in the olympics though, but thats something else. I'll probably do a RSF after I save my important stuff.

    That's great!
I also secure them with electrical tape before reassembling to avoid breaking them the next time and replaced my ribbons with longer ones.

Check to see if stealth mode is not enabled.

your talking about the little brown clip the fold up so you can unhook the cable right?

mine came off also but I was able to push it back in with some effort and it snapped back in place.
