So about a year ago, I got a pretty nasty virus that forced me to wipe everything and re-install everything. Since that time, the USB ports on the left side of the laptop no longer work. Well, they allow me to charge my phone, for example, but I can't transfer data with them. Is there a setting in the BIOS or something I can select to turn them back on? Or maybe I need certain drivers? I don't know, but I really need access to the USB ports on both sides of the laptop, so I was hoping you guys could help me out. Thanks.

Oh, that's an easy one! (meaning I can actually give you a fix for it!)
The drives on the left are USB 3.0, which require a driver in windows. That driver can be found here.
I ran into the same issue after my first nuke&reinstall, was initially annoying to diagnose - and then I just decided to install the drivers -
Wow, thanks for the fast response! I was hoping it was something simple like this. I'll download the drivers when I get home tonight.
