Hey guys, its been a while since i've posted.

I recently wanted to format my M17x , but saw my dvd drive wasnt working. so i call dell and ask them to get the part replaced. They sent me the parts, and i replaced it myself. I boot up the computer, and i hear this annoying sound. I remember getting it on a few older slot loading drives, on other computers. So i call them up, again and get it replaced, except a tech got the parts, i looked at the drive he had, it was the same one, in the computer. The brand they sent me was a philips, the one originally in the system was a Sony.

I just want to know is there a way to get rid of that annoying sound when booting?

BTW, called them again and they said they were going to send the exact same one, but i really doubt it.

    TIA!
