I just started having problems with booting my m17xr2. Sometimes on boot the keyboard lights up but nothing happens. The only way to boot at this point is to unplug the powercord and disconnet the battery for a few seconds. Put battery back in plug in power cord and boots just fine. I got all the new drivers and the lastest bios. Only thing new I did was 2 weeks ago installed a 256gb samsung ssd and reinstalled win 7. No problems till yesterday when I was at my fathers house, I plugged it in, and says not right power coming from power cord. I could play though just fine and only thing it said was not charging batter. I am at home today, no errors plugging in the wall outlet but still the boot problem persists. Ever heard of this?

What's your BIOS version?
You might have an older version, just go to Dell's site, download the latest version, HERE.
After flashing, your BIOS settings will be reverted to default so if you made any changes go into the BIOS menu (press F2 at startup) and change the values back (IE: RAID 0, etc..)
Report back.

I have the newest bios, I did enable under the power setting to alert if there is a wrong power detected. Booted 10 times seems to be okay.
