M17xR2 screen

So I purchased an m17x r2 on sale from the dell outlet, one of the last lunar silver models, but am not sure whether I'm getting the ccfl 1920x1200 screen or the rgb led one. I looked at the part numbers but I am still not sure. This is the build, and if anyone knows this answer I greatly appreciate it. Critiques on this build are appreciated also.

but to be a 1000% sure, call your outlet rep to verify.

 

I just ordered an R2 from dell outlet about a week ago. Same part number. Dell should've also sent you another e-mail with better detail of what you're getting. It should show this:

17 inch UltraSharp WUXGA (1920x1200) RGB LED Display

Funny thing is i was just about to buy the same unit that you bought, but I don't like lunar silver to be honest

Once you receive your unit, download HWINFO32, and click on the monitor icon on the left side. To the right of model number it should show one of these 2 numbers:

K1NFP€170CT
J2CY8€170CT

 

Thanks kanoej and huuy. I'll call a tech to verify, however, I'd like to know for sure because working with the sales department, I've seen how they can give you a song and dance. These are the part numbers I've seen for the rgb screen so far, which is confusing; K1NFP, 0CWMH, 320-8856 and now K1NFP€170CT and J2CY8€170CT


I figured silver because ufos are "supposed" to be silver metallic, and silver and black seem to go together, imo.

 

And I thought nebula red was kinda looking for a guy to be carrying around, sorry no offense to people reading this.

This is really cool that I found this thread; I just ordered the black M17x r2 from the outlet yesterday using the secksy 20% off coupon. I think we should all qualify for federal benefits for taking in foster children or something; we're like extended family hahaha

Anyway!

I have been scouring the forums to confirm I got the super delicious RGB screen instead of the other not so desireable screens and I'm happy to say I did.
