What is your system configuration? What game are you playing? Is it flickering when you turn in the game? Or is when you standing still. Also what frame rate are you getting?

with 11.2 i found a little problem. If you change color settings under Desktop Management tab, you'll get flickering.

Try to do this: Under Desktop Management Tab > Desktop Color click on Reactivate AMD color control, set everything to "default".

If you want to change color settings do it through My Built in Display > Display Color.

This should solve the issue of flickering. Let me know

I have CF 5870s and a 740 processor. 4gb or ram. It is brand new I just got it Monday it showed up. Does it in all games. Although I logged on wow and it wasnt happening but it did happen in call of duty modern warfare 2 and in mx vs atv unleashed. Getting normal framerates. It's like when ur moving around all the sudden the picture starts chopping. And in mx vs atv reflex it looks like the picture starts to shake alittle. It's weird.

i have it on and it still happens. its not so much of a flicker but its like the image chopping. when i play mx vs atv reflex it only happens at certain parts of tracks. and it happens every lap at the same spot. its weird. like right when i hit that spot the image cuts and chopped real fast then it goes back to normal.

ok so i tried unchecking enable crossfire and now i get double the fps in wow. what would this mean. does this mean maybe i have a bad secondary card or maybe its not plugged in all the way. cause in device manager it shows both. or does it mean by enabling it it is actually disabling. idk help me out there is also no more flickering with enable crossfire unchecked. so i am guessing its a bad card.

Well Crossfire is a setup that isn't highly accepted by alot of games or supported so you might have to play with a single GPU if you have the Flickering going on in games like Battlefield or Medal of Honor I'd be surprised, but I don't think you have a bad card.

Sometimes the flash didn't get everything, I'm tempted to actually revert I hope that's possible i don't know though, My brother has the R2 laptop and I'm trying to figure it out as well. When he hands over the laptop over the weekend I'll work and tinker it out and post my findings. We recently made the switch from 4870 to 5870 from Dell, but we're starting to regret the move, lol.

Disable Catalyst A.I. in the Catalyst Control Panel. Works every time.

If you disable it you can't use Crossfire.

I'm having the same problems I was wondering if I open up my laptop and swap the cards, what could potentially happen? By swap I mean left to right, right to left. Thanks....

Interesting. I currently only have one game that exhibits the problem (Mafia II) and never stopped to benchmark the difference with Catalyst AI on or off as it evidently runs well both ways. It does appear that switching off Catalyst AI turns off Crossfire as well. That sucks....

Somehow I miss my 4870's, lol, they didn't exhibit this type of problem. I hope I get the 5870's figured out here shortly.

    I had the same problem.
I called Dell and they replaced the 5780 slave card.
Then I reformatted the pc and installed the 11.2 drivers.
And in the mean time I've switched my 720 cpu to a 920XM

Now every game works perfect in Crossfire exept crysis and crysis2.
But Crysis isn't crossfire compatible, so I'm happy now :)

I can live with those results, but you never know if it's the Cable or the card.
