    Hey All,

This one is for all the m17xR2 owners.

I am trying to get to the bottom of this DisplayPort issue and I would like to see if the DisplayPort has worked for anyone that has done the 6970/6990 upgrade.

Now this is using the actual DisplayPort signal. Using a passive passthrough to DVI or VGA does actually work. However this is not what I am interested in.

Therefore, if anyone has managed to get an actual DisplayPort monitor to work, or an active DisplayPort adapter, please let me know.

    That is all! :D

I am having the exact same problem. I am going to be royally pissed if for some reason I can't get the DisplayPort to work. Just bought a brand new second 27 Inch screen and I REALLY don't want to have to return it and the active adapter that I had rush delivered to my house. Edit: Is there some way to disable the DisplayPort that I might have done after I changed out the cards?

Would this work? Super excited to get these monitors going :) Tired of waiting.

It will work but not the way you are thinking it will. A second external monitor needs to be run using a native displayport signal. Passing it though to HDMI will only allow you to output to one of your external monitors at a time. The second monitor will be detected by the computer but you won't be able to include it in a eyefinity array with two other monitors active (the internal display and the the 1st external monitor)

I really want a fix for this too. I'm beginning to think the only hope would be if the 7970m lacks this issue when installed in the R2.

I don't even need the built in display active. I just want my two 27 inch screens on. Is that possible? If it's not I guess I'll look into building my desktop rig a little earlier than planned :p Not going to let these things go to waste.

Pretty sure not possible. Might be able to do if if you disable the internal display though . . .

There has to be some way...Have people tried using the Dell BIOS instead of a custom BIOS or Clevo version?
