    Hi everyone ,
first off id like to say thanks to everyone. this forum it has been so helpful in the past.

was just wondering if i should re-paste my Gpu (580m) as i have the following

im getting idle temps at 55 - 58 at times
    Gaming ( 60 -65 )

i never used to go over 60 until i had to reset my GPU due to black screen beeping,

any recommendations with be great ( like which paste i should use .etc)

    You should use

    From the most reccomended

    get from frozencpu

    Paste for GPU core

Coolaboratory Liquid Ultra (not compatible with aluminum heatsinks)
    IC Diamond
    Arctic silver 5

    Thermal pad for vram/vrms

    Coolaboratory Metal Pad
    Fujipoly 0.5
    AKASA Thermal tape

To further increase heat dissipation, you can "lap" (polish until mirror finish) the heatsink contact base. However, I suggest using another heatsink set from ebay.

You can try searching the forum on how to take the video card heatsink off, follow the pad pattern on the stock thermal pad if you are repadding.

BoxKid, if you're gaming at 60-65c, there is no need to repaste. in fact repasting will not get you better temps.

What I would do is prop up the back of your laptop. you can use a book, bottle caps, a notebook cooler that does not obstruct the bottom fan intakes etc...this drops temps 5-7c on my laptop

Another thing that you can do is flash your 580m vbios to 675m. This will remove the 63c power throttle and give you more performance
