    Hi,

    I have recently upgraded my stock ram of 8gb 1333mhz to Kingston HyperX 1600mhz & OCZ Vertex 3 SSD. Doing so, the first thing I did was to do benchmarks and store the numbers as they appeared on 3DMARK 06, 3DMARK VANTAGE & 3DMARK 11.

    Next thing I wanted to do was to overclock CPU and GPU. Here is what I did.

    In BIOS (vA04) -> Advanced -> Performance ->
    bus speed set to 1006
    memory clock set to 1600
    set xmp profile 2

    Then I rebooted into Windows 7 ultimate. There I used Sapphire TriXX to overclock ATI 6970m's core clock to 800 and memory to 1000 mhz. Doing so, I got significant boost in my numbers on the benchmarking softwares.

    It's stable across all benchmarks and BFBC2, BlackOps games.

    I know I am still not maxed out on the possible OC. What would you guys suggest me to OC next ? Any better, stable settings ?

    Hi, I`v the same hardware, exept the DDR3 Ram, there I`v Kingston HyperX PnP 1600 2x4GB. ;-)
    My suggestion ist to set better Timings vor the RAM. I.g. 8.8.8.24 1T
    But thats real hard to make, the settings in the Bios dosn`t remember from Win7. They got wrong values also... :-(
    My Vertex3 bench is around 450 read / 140 write, what is yours? (any special drivers?)
    The Vertex is in HDD0 Port and AHCI Mode too. ;-))
