I'm going to buy the AW M17x R3 but I live in the netherlands and I want 2 buy it from the american site because it has some components that I want. The dutch AW doesnt offer an hybrid drive for example and is way more expensive.

Is there any way to buy it from american AW anyway?
are there any good american AW resellers known that ship international?

    thanks

Why would you want a hybrid drive? Just get a 750GB from Dell and buy a SSD later for the OS and use the 750GB for data.

You can buy it from HIDevolution but honestly its not going to be cheaper since Alienware lowered the price from 2000 to 1500 in the Netherlands.

The are discounts right now in the Netherlands. If you cal a rep. you should be able to get the price down even more.

nice I will look into it.

my config is 2000 though because I want:

    HD6990M
    2720QM (2.2GHZ)
    8gb memory
    N killer 1103.
    1080p screen FHD
    rest is standard.

2144 euro's 2 be exact but because of the 10% discount it is 1929 euro's.

Should be able to get that for 1850 euro's.

1770 euro's incl. shipping from HID excl. tax. Do it the legal way tax wil be about 300 euro's. So total 1770+300=2070 euro's.

Not cheaper. You can even cut back the RAM to 4GB, upgrading it yourself is cheaper. Rest is ok.

The option is there. 500GB Momentus XT 144 euro. Better to get the 320 GB or 750 GB drive if you need the space. If you go with 750GB its saves you 36 euro's.

If I where you I would get 4 GB and buy 1 stick of 4 GB from Alternate since you want 8 GB. The upgrade at Dell cost 126 euro which is the biggest bulls.it I have ever seen. 1 stick of Kingston 4 GB at Alternate cost 20 euro's. Thats 106 euro's saved.

Total saved 142 euro's. Put 50 euro's with that and buy a nice SSD that is way way way way way way faster then the Momentus XT.

    Just something to think about.

EDIT: Best is to get 2x4 GB sticks and place it in the free slots for a total of 12 GB, I had that same setup.

ok will go with the 2x4GB sticks and I think that im going with the 320 GB and put in an SSD later i dont use a lot of storage.

you can just put the ssd in and create a partition in windows just as any other HDD install?

edit: you recommend any 2x4GB sticks. or can I just buy it from valueram/geil/G skill

You can get whatever brand of RAM you want, just make sure its compatibel with the R3.

As for the SSD. Install SSD in port 1..thats the free slot. Change boot order in bios from primairy to secondairy.

Insert Windows 7 cd, restart and boot of the cd, follow instructions. Format both drives and install Windows on the SSD. Install drivers and run Windows Update. CC needs frameworks 4.0 so install CC last.

    Easy.

One more thing not all SSD's work flawlesly with the R3. Intel 510/Crucial M4 work without problems and are realible.

i mostly order my components for pc's n stuff @ alternate.nl , good service and fast delivery.

i was gonna get some hyper x ram for the R3 at a later stage, 2 out of the 4 ram bays are fairly easy to get to the other 2 are a bit of work as their under the keyboard
