I have a problem with my m17x r3 I do not understand why it is happening at all. When it is plugged in its plugged in and charging and when I check the battery the battery is full and giving full lights. However, if it is unplugged and I hit the power button with the battery full it does not switch on it acts as if there is no battery at all. When the laptop is on after it is plugged in and I unplug it for some odd reason it does not switch off it works fine unplugged. To power it on initially every single time I have to plug it in first hit the power button then after I log into windows I am free to unplug it. How can I fix this? I want it to detect the battery when it is closed and unplugged.

    Thank you.

When it is plugged in and you hit the power button (Alienhead) does it power off?

Also, doing a quick Google search I found this. Not sure if it's applicable in your situation or not. Hope it helps.

Yea it powers off fine. But when I unplug it the alienhead just goes off as if the battery isnt there and whats even more weird is that sometimes it works... but, barely and randomly. What can the solution be? and the laptop is definitely detecting the battery because, if i were to unplug it now it just runs on the battery fine and its "plugged in and charging"

Have you tried a new battery? I don't know much about batteries. If it works anything like a car battery, it will take much less power to keep the system up then starting than a hard boot.

Did you look at the link I posted? Other than that I'd have to default to some of the other members who are much more equipped to answer questions.

The battery lasts fine. I also tried the battery from my friend's new m17x r3 and the same thing happenes. Its not related to the battery because, sometiems it works its completely random. I think it has to do with the whole "battery enabled" thing. It has always caused problems I do not understand. No matter how manyt imes I press it always says enabled never disabled I dont get it. Why does the laptop not detect the battery when it is unplugged and switched off but, detectes it when it is unplugged and switched on?
