I've finally gotten it to work at 1080p for both gamecube and PS2!
    M17XR3 Specs:
    2630QM turbo 2.8Ghz
ATI Mobility Radeon 6970M (really any card that supports DX11 will work great)
    4GB DDR3
    320GB 7200RPM Drive
    Win 7 X64

    !~CRITICAL STEP: DOWNLOAD LATEST THROTTLESTOP!~!
Open it up, turn it on, and check clock modulation and chipset clock mod, as well as multiplier. On the multiplier setting, push it all the way up to turbo. This will ensure proper CPU performance!

Dolphin: Download dolphin 3.0 and latest directX
Start up dolphin, and click on the GFX Config button in the upper right area.
    1. Select Direct3D 11 for the video backend from the dropdown menu
    2. Click on the enhancements tab, and from the dropdown select 3x native resolution which should be 1920x1584 (this is actually higher than 1080p :D )

    3. On the hacks tab, click RAM to disable it, leaving only virtual checked.

Exit out of configuration, setup controls as you like, and boot up a game!

    I've tested:
Super Smash Bros Brawl PAL- works 100% full speed most everywhere, including multiplayer w/ all 4 character slots full with minimal slowdown and graphics glitches (some of the items)

Metroid prime: runs great with minor slowdowns. no graphics glitches yet

Star Wars Bounty Hunter- runs beautifully, only slows down in minor places with large amounts of NPCs. No graphics glitches yet

Play with the graphics settings back and forth from the original 640x480 to 1920x1582. The new graphics are RAZOR sharp!

For PCSX2: Downloaded latest PCSX2 and acquire the PS2 Bios from your PS2

    1. Under Config tab, select video, then plugin settings.
    2. From the dropdown menu, select direct3d 11 HARDWARE~!
    3. In the D3D internal resolution box, go the custom area, and type in 1920x1080.
    4. Exit plugin area, config controls as you like, and start the game.
    5. If you experience some slowdowns, feel free to use speedhacks in the main config. USE ONLY THE RECOMMENDED ONES!

I have tested FFX, FFX-2, and FF12. press F9 to see the major difference between 640x480 and 1920x1080! My games run perfect and beautifully!

Good luck guys and post your experiences!

    Nice guide! + rep

I will try these settings on my R2 as soon as I get my preorder of Zelda Skyward Sword.

I'm interested in seeing if Super Mario Galaxy 2 can run at full framerate in Dolphin. If you could test that whenever you get a chance it'd be great. If not, that's fine too. Thanks.

Go try F-Zero GX, see if it runs well for ya. Also, try The Conduit 2. Those are the most graphically intense games I've tried so far. MarioKart Wii on 2player mode also gets lesser fps (40s).

    Don't have those games :\

I'm sure you will be getting better FPS using these settings. At first, Metroid prime on stock settings was only getting about 75% speed. Fixed these settings, and it went up to 100%.
