Im playing far cry 4 but it stutters every few minutes.

The max temp of the GPU diode is 77deg celcius, a little low for throttling right? The picture below shows some more data, in between the 2 vertical black lines is where the stutter occurs.

    Looks like a driver issue.

How so? This issue is present on both the stable drivers and the new beta drivers especially for Far cry 4. "14.11.2 Beta"

Far Cry 4 is a new game. The driver probably doesn't support it all that well. AMD isn't known for their driver support.

Does this happen only in Far Cry 4?

I havven't played any graphic intensive games lately. I have been playing too much Starcraft. :p

I just checked another log. Once the GPU diode reaches 77 degr stutter starts, every time. Could somebody with a 7970M confirm throttling starts so early?

Yolo, 7970M doesn't run so hot unless Oced.. Clean your vents and the temps should drop a bit.. Also put fans on high RPM through HWinfo32/64 and see if its solves the issue...

No issues here with 7970m in m17xr2 and far cry 4.
    I'd check your cooling.

    Good luck.

I put the back of the laptop on 2 bottle caps so it got some room to suck air into the vents. I'll have access to the tools I need to clean the vents tomorrow. Thanks for the help all :)

I'll post back whether or not it solved the issue.

    Using Clevo P150EM.
Getting the same 77ºC constant, it's weird cause it's saying 99-100% GPU usage, but usually when i have that my 7970m will run up to 90ºC, in this case it stays at 77ºC. I'm having -poor performance in this game, everything on low i'll get ~45fps.
