I've had a older post about my Alienware M17xR3.
    Here it is http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m17x/685663-m17xr3-problem-help-now.html

After you read the problem I had I continued on with Customer Support. I complained and complained and refused to give up. They even went to the extent to Replace my motherboard both Fans and CPU. That's after I told them about the on going overheating problem I had. So the other day I was accepted for a system exchange and today I got the parts info

Im extremely happy with this because I'm getting upgraded on CPU/GPU/Wireless Card. But after all of the hassle I went through is it possible to get a refund? At all? Since its a new system and all. Please tell me what you know or think below. Thanks

I know you have 21 days to demand a refund no questions asked. I've heard if you give a bit of fuss they'll give you the refund up to 30 days after purchase. But you're R3 is almost a year old, AND you accepted a system exchange, so I'm not sure if they'll allow it now. The primary job of customer support is to keep you happy so you DON'T ask for a refund. All-in-all, you're almost a year into ownership, so I just don't see them issuing a refund...unless you have plethora of problems with your new R4 as well.

PS: may I ask why you decided to take a system exchange instead of fighting more for a refund?

If you just simply want $$$, sell your R4 would be another option.

    Jeezz...

Wait...why would they give you a refund when they are giving you a new computer? That makes no sense! I am confused again...

I would think the new computer is compensation for the hassle you've gone through. Refund is probably not likely.

So in my latest post I stated that Should I refund my New Alienware M17xR4. Well one of the replies stated "Why dont you just sell it" I honestly didn't think of this. Now that its in my head, Im thinking on selling off the New Exchanged System and Use that money to Buy/or/Build new PC. Probably a desktop, Now could this be done? Can I sell this System, The Warranty From my Old system expires in 84 Days and that warranty is this New Systems Warranty. So would it be allowed to sell that System? With those Specs I posted the system config Price is about $1,800 USD. So basicly Im asking this, Can I get this New Laptop that dell exchanged and Sell it off for someone else to have to deal with dell, and Never have anything to do with this system again? Its not like I dont like Alienware, But its an option now and its the only chance I have. So reply below because im clueless on these kinds of things.

If you want to sell the computer you can do it. Just remember to help the buyer with the warranty transfer as he will need your information to do it.

Mike, sure you can sell the system if that's what you desire. Just take into consideration what Luis said.

Just out of curiosity, what system is going to replace it?

You will never get full retail for a system that only has 84 days left on warranty. If they give it a full warranty, then you should be able to get close, since the warranty will transfer with the laptop.

Just an FYI to the OP, I had an offer to replace after 6 months of grief. They also offered to refund me if I didn't want a replacement. The warranty was started fresh with the replacement. :)

Man, some people just are never happy. They are giving you a brand new system that is upgraded in most every way and you still aren't happy.

If he can sell it and build a new desktop then I think the AW rep did their jobs well.

But yeah, I know. It's just unbelievable...
