M17xR4 No display 8 beeps but seems to be working otherwise

I own 2 laptops 1 alienware m18xR1 with 6990m crossfire setup and second an m17xR4 with gtx680m.few days back my right 6990m was not being detected in crossfire it was showing under hardware managerbut catalyst manager said that crossfire wire was not connected. I arranged another 6990m and checked both cards one by one when I changed the right side card that crossfire setup worked.I though there was something wrong with the cross fire connector and that it would work fine in a single card setup. so to check I removed the gtx680m and installed that card in my m17xr4 the system now gave 8 beeps and blank screen. Being shocked I reinstall the gtx680m and still the problem persists. Confused I reinstalled the card the on the m18xR1 and it gave same 8 beeps and now no matter which card I install I have same situation on both. Desperately confused I live in a remote region in a remote country Any guidance would be appreciated.

working otherwise mean i cant see anything but when i push numlock or caps lock they seem to turn on an off even ctrl+alt+del seems to restart it. i have checked removing batteries after which i get 5 beeps once and then again the 8 beeps. i have tested multiple gpus working on other laptops and external display
