I just installed Win 8.1 following the guid posed by Luis but have this message in my Action center

"COMPAL Embedded System Control is missing a driver".

    Installed as follows:

    1. Chipset
    2. Intel Management Engine Interface
    3. Intel Rapid Storage technology
    4. LAN driver
    5. Wireless Driver
    6. INTEL/AMD/NVIDIA Display Driver
    7. Audio driver
    8. Bluetooth driver
    9. Media Card Reader
The following drivers might require Microsoft .NET framework 3.5 support to work properly, you can download it here.
    10. Touchpad driver
    11. Alienware On-Screen Display driver
    12. Alienware Command Center

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Freefall sensor? I seem to remember the system showing a missing driver until that was installed.

    Freefall sensor/driver possibly.

Did you do the full windows 8 treatment with the UEFI installation?

It is the free fall sensor. There is a compatible driver on dell's website.

Go to device manager and let us know if you have any drivers missing in there.
