    I have the Intel 7260AC, works great and is easyli installed. :)

    I personally recommend you get the external adapter by Asus: usb-ac56
    Faster than both the Intel and Killer internal cards if you're planning to transfer files over wifi

    Both of those are great suggestions. We don't specifically recommend that wireless card on that machine because it was never sold with it, but we know of many users with it installed and working.

    I had concerns that an external card might introduce latency issues; is this not the case?

    I struggle with USB ports as-is; can anyone recommend a good hub that can run 24x7x365 ?

    Well I download gigabytes of files on a daily basis and my download speed is extremely consistent.
    I transfer lots of files to my media player in my living room as well without issues.

    The one issue with the Asus USB-AC56 is the official driver which is ridiculously bad. I luckily found a post by a guy who suggested installing a driver for an adapter from a completely different brand which shares the same chip used by the Asus. Since then I haven't had a single problem using the adapter...
