    Hi all.

Tried finding an answer without luck.

Is there a way to fix the fan control issue with the above combination?

From what I've seen, upgrading from the 7970m to the m290x - there is no fan control, and this must be done with software.

This is obviously not ideal. For example, i'm installing windows on the laptop again, it's sitting there slowly heating up the GPU. Eventually it will reach max temps and power down.

Another example, turning on the computer - if you leave it at the login screen it won't load hwinfo, and it'll overheat again.

Has anyone come across an answer / solution to this?

I don't really understand where the issue lies - if it's something that could be fixed with a vbios or similar?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Cutting one of the fan wires (Specific one not like any wire :D) should keep the fan running at full speed all the time. it ain't ideal but it is your only option other than using HWinfo for fan control.
