    Wow, thats sad that they still haven't manage to lock down that issue. My previous R3 had that issue as well.

    Hie guys,

    I think they have done the hardware config a little different this time. Mine is a 3D setup with Nvidia 675m.

    The lightboard specifically for the alienhead illumination is present behind the display panel, but its made to behave differently. It works only when the display panel backlight is on. Its turns off when the display panel light is off.

    BUT it is not related to the backlight in terms of intensity etc. They have hardwired it to behave so. I know this conclusively, because I opened up my R3 and the new R4 to change the webcam. R4 has a webcam of less megapixel compared to R3 plus the Lid cover on R4 was not keeping the display panel flush with the top margin..So i changed the lid cover too.
