    hello community.

lately i ve noticed that at some points my fps drops dramatically when i am playing.

specifically when i play Black Ops my fps from 75 drops to 25-30 and the game becomes unplayable. Then goes up and down again.

I am using a single ATI 5870. any advice or personal experience and solution?

    thanks in advance.

Do you have the same problems on any other game? I know since the beginning Black ops performance is horrible on PC, and i doubt they have fixed it yet.

Have you updated the drivers at all? What about your temperatures for both the CPU and 5870?

sounds like a probable CPU overheating issue. Post CPU Z and GPUZ temps

Agree with the above. CPU throttling due to heat.

Also, which Graphics configuration are you using in both games?, maxed out?
I play CODBOPS, and i got better perfomance when i set Anti-Aliasing to 8X, and yes, i got drops of FPS, but its playable.

    thanks for the fast replies.

i am using the 8.763 drivers from alienware. the bios is up to date as well.

the configuration is not maxed out as the card couldnt handle the games at full. only the resolution is max. shadows, antializing etc etc are between normal and high.

as for the overheating , i ve never run any test to check it. My schedule is kinda tight tommorow but ill try to test it and post the results.

keep an eye on this thread folks for updates.

    thanks.
