Hi guys after battling the infamous 1103-frequent disconnects I am shifting to AC (cheap 6th gen AAEBS) and I believe I have found a 3x3 wifi AC card. The BCM94360HMB, which has an inbuilt Bluetooth as well
    My question is
    1) the BCM94360HMB apparently is compatible with a particular antenna called a ? MHF4, will that mean it can't connect to the standard antennae that came with the R4?
    2) the BT on board the BCM94360HMB won't be disable-able :p, do you reckon 2xBT chips can co exist (I know the AW BT is capable of a bios key disconnect, but I was just wondering)

    Thanks

Ps I know the 2x2 Intel AC card half mini PCI-e , but wanted a 3x3 card,

2 BT Chips can co-exist, you can disable Dell BT or physically remove the card if you want. The issue is the antennas - they are physically different as far as I can tell. Wireless antennas in R4 are standard, they work fine with Killer 1103, Intel AC 7260 etc. However BCM94360HMB uses the smaller type antennas - R4 antennas will not fit the BCM94360HMB card.
    You can compare them below:

I would recommend going Intel path with AC 7260. If it had any issues some years ago when it was new to the market, the card has been working perfect for at least over a year now. And it's an easy plug and play, you can remove the Dell BT at the same time if you want (though you will need to remove the top case to gain access). To replace wifi card in R4, all that need to come out is the keyboard surround with the quick launch buttons and the keyboard. And yes, I went through the exact the same thing - I had Killer 1103, bought a better AC router and after some research went with Intel AC 7260. The only regret is I did not do that sooner.

    1. ahh....also known as the AW-CB160H. Yes you will need U.FL to MHF4 adapters (sold on ebay). MHF4 female is VERY small, smaller than U.FL by quite a bit. they make female-male adapters thought, look on ebay.

    2. They can co-exist, and you can disable the broadcom bluetooth (or just remove it altogether, it is a small board)

Sorry to bring this thread from the dead but resourcing mh4 adapters are difficult to resource here in au.(Chinese sellers on eBay have already stuffed me) so that led me to my backup, the 7260 is there a revision number or serial number to look out for that is less problematic or has better performance on AC
