I have had my m17xr4 since mid February and everything else seems sorted out except wifi issues.

Laptop has standard intel wireless-n 2230. The issue is, wifi keeps disconnecting every 15-30minutes. And when it is connected, packets keep dropping, intel test passes everything except ping test.

I replaced the router with a different one and issue still kept happening so called dell and got the wireless card replaced but issues is still happening.

At the moment I am using a $10 USB wifi and its working rock solid without issues, so issue seems to be the card.

Can Anyone suggest so something that can help me sort this issue?

If it's not the wireless card, then possibly faulty drivers or malfunctioning antennae.

Was first thinking, again a Killer wireless topic, but it's about the intel so ok :p.

Maybe you got alot of interference or something like that, cannot really point it out because alot has already happened
    Switched card, router etc...
    Try other drivers?
Uninstall intel drivers and install new?

Try some other channels, this seems to fix this kind of problem sometimes.
What happens when you move your laptop close to your router? you still having issues?

Or else buy a killer 1103, they never have connectivity problems.....

You might want to use inSSIDer check the interference and see if you can change the channel on your wifi bands (2.4ghz and 5ghz) but if your cheapo card works then hmm...

After spending few hrs trying to diagnose the issue, it turns out n2230 doesn't work that good (read: at all) with wep and will act like a drama queen, changed over to wpa2 and everything is ok now except ping, it's still too high compared to the USB card, which was still high compared to my old 5300.

    At least it works now.

Bf3 average ping on USB is 35ms while on n2230 is 120ms.
