Quick poll if you could,
Since my Alienrespawn failed earlier this week. I'm thinking about going ahead and upgrading my drive while I tried to fix . Looking at this two SSD:
Amazon.com: Crucial 256 GB m4 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive SATA 6Gb/s CT256M4SSD2: Electronics
Amazon.com: Samsung 830 - Series MZ-7PC256N/AM 256 GB 2.5 Inch SATA III MLC Internal SSD Laptop Kit with Norton Ghost 15: Electronics
Or do you have any better sugestions, thank you in advance

If cost isn't a factor, get the 830 over the M4.

or wait for the Samsung 840. According to tom's hardware it is a great solid and speedy SSD.
Samsung 840 Pro SSD: More Speed, Less Power -
I have two M4s and am very satisfied with them. Although cannot compare to anything else than Vertex 3 which was terribly unstable.

Between those two? 830 all the way. But the 840 is just around the corner & its a nice bump up in performance all while consuming less energy while performing writes. Then again, with the release of the 840 we should see even more price drops on the 830 & that ain't bad either!

Samsung 830 is the logical choice, but you want to make sure you get the retail version.
Only the retail version gets firmware upgrade.
As for Samsung 840, probably need to wait for a few weeks before it is widely available.
Unless you are willing to wait, otherwise 830 should be good for now. -
So the 830 has a track record of being fast, reliable, expensive, and power hungry. It's recently dropped in price a lot, which largely takes care of the expense. If you mainly use your computer tethered to the wall, then power isn't a problem.
You could wait for the 840, and gain energy savings and more speed at the cost of ... cost and unknown reliability. Samsung has a good track record with the 830, but each product must stand alone. -
So M4 isn't good anymore?
-
Designs don't go bad, but companies supersede them with newer and hopefully better designs. For example, the 840 is coming out to replace the 830, but I'd still recommend the 830 due to a track record of reliability and performance, and due to lower cost and immediate availability.
Specifically regarding the M4, I've only heard good things. However, Anandtech's been recommending the 830 over all other options and I trust them when it comes to SSDs. I've also been using an 830 for a couple of months and it's worked flawlessly. -

Thank you all for the great inputs, 830 it is.

830 is a solid choice, I have both, and definitely prefer the 830's

Dont meant o highjack, if I will get a 128 GB 830, can I Raid it with my current 128 M4? Or not a good idea?

I am sure this has probably been posted elsewhere, but the following has helped with my decisions:
SSD Reviews Thread - Storage Forums
I have the M4 512GB (Marvell 88SS9174 with 25nm NAND), upgraded from the Crucial RealSSD C300, for my "internal storage Drive" in my Asus G53SX Laptop and it is a great drive with no issues at all, including easy firmware updates within Windows 7.
I chose Mushkin's Chronos Deluxe 240GB (SandForce SF-2281 with 32nm Toggle NAND) as my internal boot drive, Toggle NAND for "improved wear and tear." Upgraded from Corsair Force GT 120GB (SandForce SF-2281 with 25nm Synch NAND) that I mounted in a USB 3.0 external 2.5" drive as a second boot option.
I am going with the Samsung 830 256GB for my primary boot device in my M17x self-upgrade for added reliability and the included monitoring utilities.
OCZ Vertex4 512GB (Marvell 88SS9174 with Micron NAND) will be my Apps drive. And I will probably add an m4 mSATA as a second internal boot option, although only SATA-II in the m17x.
All the components in the Samsung are "in house" and that level of control with quality adds to the cost. -

Just curious, what kind of monitoring utility has samsung provided?
Will it work on Dell OEM version? -
Just got the 830 in today. Haven't had time to put her in, but will tomorrow morning. Super stoked.
-
I can attest to the M4 being extremely stable and very fast. Not as fast as the Samsung 830 (which I plan on using in my next desktop build), but very reliable. I've been very happy with it.

+1 for the Crucial M4! Perhaps this thread could use a poll.
