    Hey guys

Long time since i posted on here however last time, i posted how my CPU temps were "max spiking" at 95 degree's Celsius. I was prompted to give support a bell and i did, they told me to install the latest bios (A12 i believe). This dropped spikes in general down to 85 degree's Celsius. and well, apparently, that was fine.

However still i am getting average working temps of 60-70 degree's with spikes going up to 85. The surface of the laptop, keyboard and hotkey area specifically are almost uncomfortable to touch after an hour. From what i can tell all the bios changed was the temperature at which the CPU fan actually bothers to speed up (around 83 now) which has kept temps down at that level.

Just checking if i should be bothering tech support again, i have 3 years warranty, of which im just over a year on so if possible, if this requires some fixing, i want to get it done Soon as possible.

Sounds like it's time for a re-paste. Every 12-18 months is usually how often you should re-paste, or when you begin to see high temperatures.

Your power settings on power options for system cooling policy are on active right? Check fans and clena if necessarry otherwise a repaste might be worth a try.

Clean the fans and vents then re-paste.

Checked fans and vents which seem to be fine. When its not being used its kept inside the material sleeve it came in, then in a bag which is kept spotless. I also only ever use it after the surface has been cleaned.

Ive contacted dell support regarding the temps, awaiting an email back (bear in mind it was new years day i sent the mail).

One thing im not sure about is i notice that the CPU fan stays pretty much idle until around 80 degree's is reached and then it will ramp up. Im wondering if theres any way i could set it to come on at say..60, 65 to keep the temps down that way?
