Hi I have Max Payne 3 and was recently updating the forum topic on the game but my requests for help got lost in all the noise. I have started a new one as I hope that somebody on here might have the same problem I'm having with the game. I posted it here as I respect the people on this site and their advice.
I am currently stuck on the initializing page of the game.
I have tried all the modern fixes some people said to try.
These include:
Putting no spaces in the Max Payne 3.exe, putting it on the A:/ drive whilst not putting it in rockstar folder and then changing the regedits addresses to match.
Changing compatability mode and running as administrator. (for all versions of windows and for both exe files)
Alt tabbing out of the loading screen and starting renderer (social club) independently.
Running it in safe mode (I did this once and the game allowed me to register and enter CD key. I then rebooted and run it in normal mode but this kept me on initializing screen. (Safe mode has not worked since).
Turning off firewall and installing.
Changing firewall permissions.
Uninstalling the game and reinstalling over and over again.
Uninstalling and reinstalling the renderer.exe various times.
turning of .net 4.0 and reinstalling c++ program (got error must turn off in windows features etc)
reinstalling direct x 11.
updated to latest nvidia drivers.
turning off a tablet service in services that seemed to make the game not run on some systems.
Running offline.
tried the portforward suggestion by Rockstar as they now think that routers are not allowing the game through due to them having specific ports that work for matchmaking etc (never heard of this problem before and haven't had issues with battlefield 3, wow, old republic etc). Didn't work but cannot be sure if it worked at all.
I notice that the rockstar renderer.exe does not kick in when I open the game and I keep telling rockstar that there's issues with the nvidia optimus drivers but they are not listening and keep pasting lots of suggestions. I gane them my MSINFO and DXDIAG files to look at and they then said it might be something to do with optimus. Yet they then said its the routers at fault (as far as I'm concerned it's good enough for every other game so why not this?)
Please help.
I will try and update as best I can with other things I have tried but that's all at the moment.

I've not been able to get past the game intro screen and been trying for 3 weeks now!!!
To get past the initialising screen, I uninstalled/reinstalled the rockstar social club as it wasn't signing in properly and holding the game at that point (also push home key to check its signed in) that how I got past that.
My problem is after that now so........ I'm still shafted
Link to solution (the social club download is near the bottom)

hope it helps -
yeah thanks Jus71n I have already downloaded it. Just think rockstar are stalling and not actually able to solve the problem. I understand all the complications involved but I'm certain if they didn't do all these extra running background programs they could actually create a decent game to run on majority of pc's. If my other games were not workingI I would understand that it's my computer but I genuinely think this programming is very tempestuous. Here's hoping an update will allow it to run better soon. They keep suggesting I uninstall my security software completely but I am sure that every other game I have works well with McAfee then so can this (If rockstar bother to do the programming a bit better).
And yes... I know I'm winging but I'm entitled to when I have had to spend this many hours trying to work something that should technically work straight out of the box. -
HaloGod2012 Notebook Virtuoso
run the game executable as administrator if u havent already
edit: nevermind u have tried that -
I also did try the full uninstalled, then removed my antivirus, reinstalled with the same results. Been in touch constantly with Rockstar and they got no real clue how to get it working.

I'm using 6990m, so I'm not sure if it helps.....
My first Installment going smooth. But when I try to set all graphic setting to max to see how far my system handle it, it crashed to desktop. Try to run the game again and goes to blank screen at initializing of the game after rockstar logo. after 5 tries with no results, Reinstall the game, Set all graphic setting to max again except MSAA (which required game to restart). And it going play normally. try to increase the MSAA value and the blank screen coming back and I need to reinstall the game all over again..... -
Just a general wondering...you guys ARE playing THE actual game right? hint hint....

Yep mines retail, was allowed to enter the cd key once so its registered under my social club games list but so far have fired 0 bullets. Not surprising really. I have noticed that C++ has not been installing properly so I dug about and found windows installer is all screwed up. I have been looking at forums but everytime i try to re register it I get access denied even though I have full permissions etc. I can't install C++ while windows installer doesn't work and I cannot fix windows installer either. ROCK...me...HARDPLACE.
Windows forums are crap aswell as I did all they asked and I still get "access denied" or not enough memory if updating windows installer etc. It's like its doing it on purpose. Why do you hate me??!!!
I really don't want to restart from scratch after the drama of rebuilding my laptop. I also have wow. old republic, diablo 3 etc which takes ages to install and fix etc I have a drama with battlefield 3 too due to the applications required like IE9 in 32bit etc Screw doing through all that again.
oh and a possible program that might fix it... runs on msi. typical. -

i have given up trying to run the game. Eventually, some day, it will work. Granted, i'll never purchase a game from rockstar unless is proven to be working flawlessly .

FWIW I installed Max Payne 3 on my M17x R2 yesterday and I've running it all on the highest settings besides AA and it's running perfectly.
I couldn't get BF3 to run though because I kept getting a Direct x is not supported error and from what I've read the only way to fix it is to format the computer which I won't do.
Max Payne 3 genuine heartache
