So I just installed some kingston hyper x memory and I also downloaded cpu z. I read that cpu z is suppose to show 800mhz on the dram spot and that means that it is running at 1600mhz. Is that right? I also set the bios profile to 2 like you are suppose to. I have seen an improvement on the benchmark scores so I believe it is working the way it should but I just want to double check.

Yes it does, as 2(dual channel) x 800Mhz=1600Mhz.
    Cheers

If I wanted to sell the stock memory would that be a problem if I needed warranty work done to the r3? Do I need to have the Dell stock memory to have warranty to work done? Same question for the gpu to.

I would keep them if I were you, just in case you'll have to return the system, in which case it'll have to be complete and I doubt you'll want to send it with the parts you upgraded with.
For the memory you won't get much anyway.
Also if they decide that the cause of the problems is one of the parts you added, you might loose your warranty.
Give Dell a call about what you want to upgrade , but if you want to upgrade to a GPU that they do not officially support for your system I doubt they would agree.

You can also find more info in the warranty thread.

    Cheers
