    guys, I am getting 25fps with High, 4x AF, AAA, DX 11, Advanced Physx, is this normal? or low for a 580M?

    Metro 2033 is a system killer. I'd say that was pretty good. If you're running at 1080p, I'd drop AA all together for more playable fps

    yes it is 1080p slick, the graphics are ridiculously nice even at high! but notebookcheck claims (I still don't get it) that I should get 45fps on average at high?! maybe they benched without AA and DX11?

    Note-Book-Check = Grain-of-Salt. They are like the wikipedia of the mobile graphics cards. Their tests are never consistent with each other and yet they still compare them. Your frames are probably fine. Remember Metro 2033 is imho the most taxing game on the market at the moment.

    Only other game that can beat it is The Witcher 2 with Ubersampling. :p

    BF3 and Crysis 2 are very close too to the levels of Metro.

    Ubersampling is crazy, I can run it all on high and get over 30fps at 900p, but if I turn ubersampling on my machine is lucky to get 6.
    I'll look at getting metro soon so I can see how high I can run it. :p

    Crysis 2 with 1.9 patch, directx 11 and high res texture is no better than metro, if not worse (in frame rates)

    I don't think so, I can max both BF3 and Crysis 2, but I cannot even go ultra on Metro 2033, however gtx 580m performs even worse than 6970m on Metro 2033, there are tons of youtube videos where people are maxing Metro 2033 with 6970m..

    I guess it is not optimized for DX11, because BF3 graphics are somewhat on-par with Metro 2033 (Metro 2033 the graphics are awesome when you max it, even little bit lower than max is crazy, never expected that to happen, I played the game on low-medium previously and it was looking so so, the change in the look with AA and high set is crazy...) and BF3 can be maxed with 40fps

    Ar eyou using PhysX? Because maybe the 6970m's can max it but the GPU is not doing any PhysX operations. The 580m is nvidia and therefore on Ultra, it will be doing shaders, tessellation as well as PhysX.

    So slow. Has troubles especially with Chess 3D. Solitaire is a bit laggy but minesweeper run like a dream.
