I read from TechInferno that for AW17 R1 system with MXM, driver with modified .inf is no longer needed for aftermarket GTX900M series cards. The nVidia official driver will just work.

Can AW17 R1 laptop owner with GTX900M cards confirm this?

Yes the non-gsync ones now work without modification but if you have a gsync one (dev_id 1617 & 1618) then you stil have to modify inf.

Any source will do - typically the Dell and Clevo ones were 8GB and have a blue PCB. The MSI ones are green and (I think were 4GB - my mate has a 4GB MSI one). They all work fine, just might need a vbios flash.
