Hah yeah I noticed that but assumed that Driversweeper was kinda included in that little action- I guess I'm just overthinking the whole process or something. I have CCleaner as well. I'll do that reinstall in a little bit.
All I can say is if it crashes again, well, then I'll be using those fine modified drivers of yours, sir. Thanks again!

why don't you just disconnect yourself from the internet until you get your drivers installed IF it does install other version and not the standard vga. I was the one to mention DriverSweeper does good job when unable to uninstall from CP.

just for the record
, DriverSweeper can be a life saver. I have used it and will keep it handy when the system is totally boggled and a straight remove+CClean will not resolve the issue.
The only reason why I tend to not suggest it (especially with the 17xR1) is due to the lack of updates to the app. I'm just not confident that the app is removing all of the files/reg entries do to HybridSLI.
One way to test this is to:
1. remove driver using Programs & features CP
2. boot into safe mode and run driver sweeper (again, only removing the Display Driver - stay away from chipset and physx). Once done, reboot.
3. Not in safe mode but back at the normal desktop, run CCleaner. Notice there are still lots of NV related entries in the registry?
Anyway, just wanted to be sure I explained why I do not endorse DriverSweeper -
Yeah, I tried disconnecting my internet and it still finds some random drivers to load and I don't know where it's getting it from. Perhaps when Windows updates itself it goes and looks for backup drivers depending on what hardware I use in my laptop- I really don't know.
Anyways, those new 266 drivers had pretty much done no better than the 197.84 drivers, but quite a bit better than the 260.99 driver IMO. Alas, I have reverted back to Batboy's driver as it had only locked up on me once in about 14 hours of gameplay (rough estimate) which is a hell of a lot better than any other drivers. -
try zipping the c:\dell\drivers folder, whenever you install dell drivers the uncompressed folder goes there, Windows might be pulling them from there, just a thought
