I currently in the process of getting the laptop ready for my 1060 but just need a modded driver. I seen posts how to do it but kinda a bit much for me. Would anyone be kind enough to modify 1060gtx driver for me?

Is the card in the machine? I’ll need the GPU hardware ID in Device Manager to mod a driver.

Have you flashed the unlocked BIOS?

Once you can get the card detected, go into Device Manager and right click on the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter - Properties - Details - Select Hardware ID in the dropdown box.
Post a screenshot of the 4 lines it gives you.
Then it’s easy to whip up a quick modded driver for your card.

I think the 1060 ID is 1C03 but it’s best to be sure.

If there isn't one on here somewhere then you'll need to get it from TechInferno but you'll have to post 5 times and then get promoted by an admin before you can download. I started downloading unlocked BIOS' from there last week but I did too many in one day so now I can't download again for about 3 more weeks. I'll check to see if that's changed though.

    Here you go!

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/78x12vmgnzdgg2l/[FPT]-M17x_R4_BIOS_A11_-_[unlocked]V2.zip?dl=0

This is the A11 BIOS. If you aren't already on the Dell A11 then it's best to flash to this one first and then flash the unlocked one. Never flash more than 3 versions ahead of what you already have so if you only have A5 then don't go straight up to A11. Always flash at your own risk. Anything can happen and it sometimes does.
Read the instructions on how to flash this on the TechInferno post. I've only done it a few times so I'm not much of an expert sorry.

You'll need to make a bootable USB drive to put the file on for flashing. Use a program called RUFUS. It's pretty easy. I believe you then have to go into the Boot Menu on Startup (F12) and boot from the USB.

Do you have the 3D 120Hz display? I thought that the 1060/1070 would only work in this machine if you had the 120Hz. I could be wrong though.

No your right and yes I do have the 120hz screen installed. I checked and my bios is A15. I seen on the other forums a guy named Klem did a bunch of unlocks for people so I messaged him. Maybe I get a unlocked A15

Did more reading and shouldn't need a unlocked bios since I got the 120hz screen to work and able to turn off legacy and what ever else in the bios

Usually if you go to UEFI then you’ll have to reinstall Windows. The drive will have to be set differently.
I’ll whip up the driver quickly. I’d already downloaded it yesterday

Ok try this. I think the M17x R4 ID is 0550 but I really need that device ID code to make sure I've got the number right. I'm flying a little blind but hopefully it works. Don't forget to disable driver signature enforcement and then install the driver. Find the setup.exe file in the International folder
