    Hi all

I recently had dell out to replace my motherboar because of my sound wouldn't always work.. Seems to work again now..
Then last night I tried to hook the laptop up with a lan cable to my internet, but it didnt go online at all?
Works great if im on wifi? But not with cable..
I tried to delete the lan driver and reinstall it from dells homepage, but same result. Didn't help at all :/ ?

What should I do to make it work again?

    Thanks alot,
    Regards from Rasmus

When you plug in the Ethernet cable do you get any LED's on the port lighting up? Does it show up in device manager? Also if you have already uninstalled and reinstalled the driver I wonder what the odds are you have a defective board.

The card lights up green when I plug in the cable.
And shows the card in device manager aswell..

Not sure what revision is or I have?

If you disable your wireless and plug in the cable to your computer , go to Control Panel ->Network and Internet ->Network and sharing center -> click on the connection in your active networks and see if it is transmitting or receiving anything. Also I presume you have tried another Ethernet cable just to rule that out? Or perhaps another port on the router.

What does it show in the taskbar on the right? A yellow dot on the lan icon or a red cross? or nothing there at all? also check if it (the LAN port driver/device) doesnt have any of those things in device manager.

if it does rightclick on it in device manager and enable/repair it. enable if red cross -- repair if yellow dot
