Kidio, the Norwegian Viking, has some questions:

So I got a 500gb harddrive full of installed games, and I am thinking about buying an SSD.

When I have installed windows 7 on the SSD and put it in next to the 500gb harddrive, will all the games work then?

If it doesn't work, is it possible to move the files needed from the windows 7 on the 500gb HDD, to the windows 7 on the SSD? It would suck if I have to format the harddrive and install all the games all over again. Thanks again guys! :D

I just went through almost this same scenario. Some of the games will work just by clicking the executable, and some are going to say that 'Components Are Missing' and then not work. There are ways of tweaking registry entries, but that's a crap shoot. If you want to enjoy the speed of your new SSD to the fullest, you're better off reinstalling. I know that's not what you wanted to hear.

    Make sure to backup:

    1) your registry

    and

    2) yours Users folder

Never done this but might work this way.

    Hey Kidio,

I recently did much the same thing and as TurbodTalon said some will work and some won't. Are all your games installed from disk or are some downloaded via Steam. If from steam you are in luck. I had Steam on my D Drive and after moving to the new computer I reinstalled Steam to the same folder. Your games will all be recognised but some won't work. Right click on a game title and then check the game cache files. Usually a small download occurs and then you are off and running. Hope this helps.
