Hey guys, just came across this article about a new Synaptics touchpad driver for HP laptops that unlocks multi touch on older laptops:
http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?p=44505922#post44505922
I installed the driver and it works well - two finger scrolling is fantastic and the general performance of the touchpad seems slightly better.
Edit - the 3 finger press to start applications also works well
-
is this only for the m17x, or will it work for m15x, m11x?
-
As far as I know all alienwares have a synaptics trackpad - I could well be wrong though - so it should work on all models
-
nice find +rep
-
Those drivers come bundled with Scrybe too. Scrybe works cool =D
-
I can't find it!

I use Srcybe on my M11x and love it. Definately worth a try. The M11x has a touchpad that is 10x better then my M17x R1.
-
wow, scrybe looks awesome
it's useful, like that bumptop thing. haven't tried that on the m11x, though. it's on my things to do when i get it back from dell list. -
Well, I hope you got a copy of Bumptop earlier because after it sold itself to Google you can no longer get the free version.
-
I can't get this to work, when i try a gesture it just simply moves my mouse around, doesn't scroll
-
is it just me or do none of these links actually work?
-
does this actually work for anyone else?
-
I even tried one that works on my M11x, and it didn't work on M17x.

Rep once I see some more confirmation on this... Sounds too good to be true.
