    Hi all
I'm experiencing the windows 7 randomly restart recently since I set the power plan to high performance. This problem only happen when I'm on battery, otherwise it is working fine. Can anyone tell me what is causing my windows randomly restart?
    best regards.

You may have a unique configuration that is drawing enough power from the battery to overload it under some cases. You have a hefty CPU, GPU, and the RAM and SSD are top class. So I expect that all that combined with a slightly faulty capacitor or other component is drawing so much power from the battery that it cant keep up.

I'm saying this because you state it is only caused in "High Performance" mode. If Balanced is working ok then i would track down the differences between the two power settings, for battery, and see if any particular settings could be setting off this behavior. Also, did you install a custom driver for the SSD? Or check for new firmware? the M4 just had a major firmware update.

Let us know what steps you are performing to repeat the resets and shutdowns. And if you get it working properly. Good luck!

I dont know if it is because of my ssd or not, it is still on fw 0009. I have tried to update my fw using a bootable cd but it didnt work. It does boot from the image file and show the Crucial brand then it just hang up, i have to press the power button to reset the computer.

If you're using Raid mode, the firmware won't flash. Have to enter the BIOS (F2), switch to AHCI, then change the Boot Order to put the CD drive first and exit saving changes. It should boot from the CD and flash; all that is required from you is consent when prompted. After the flash is complete, enter the BIOS again, switch back to Raid, change the boot order back to put your SSD first, save changes and exit. When you boot, everything should be back to normal with the M4 updated to 0309. Very nice system.

With respect to your shutdown issue, your system is too powerful and too power hungry to use the High Performance power setting when running on battery unless you change the advanced settings for the High Performance settings to very low levels when on battery. But what is the point? Accept that any use that requires High Performance also requires AC power or the default settings for battery power.
