depends on what you wana do with it. Im not really one to give out info on this type of question but I would start with backing up everything you need and updating what you want. Programs like MSI afterburner, CPUID Hardware Monitor PRO, gamebooster2 heh, futuremark , vantage, maybee google some intel burn in tests and prime benchies, well there are many CPU/GPU benches you would want to take a look at and have your setup set the way you want it by using them as reference.

Dont worry about Drivers for now. They are the most recent (at least what dell has available on the support.dell.com site).

Apps - thats your call and as others are saying, its how you want to use the system.

Maximize performance - well, how about this - play with the system, play games, have fun. if you notice performance is not what you want it to be, then start looking at tweaking clocks, third party apps, etc.

    Just have fun!

One very important item I will suggest, BE SURE TO RUN THE EMERGENCY RESCUE MEDIA CREATION TOOL in AlienRespawn before anything else. Get to AlienRespawn by using the link in the Start Menu.

Boot up the system after unboxing, have a handy 8GB blank USB flash drive or blank optical media and create that rescue image. Once done, feel free to do whatever you want. Doing this will preserve your out of box state in case something funky happens.

Red is sexy and fingerprints will be a lot less visible than on the black casing.

I got the black casing and fingerprints aren't that noticeable...unless you're eating chicken nuggets and french fries while playing your game

I agree red does look cool but most fx colors will make it look like a 5 year olds etch a sketch! I agree silver or even charcoal would have been nice

Metallic red may look okay (I never liked red) but RUBBER painted red? I don't imagine it looking too nice.
