This is starting to get ridiculous - things were perfect with my machine at first, and over the course of a month, more and more bad stuff has begun to happen.
First, the loss of brightness control sometimes after sleep.
Secondly, graphics card randomly not clocking up - have to unplug and replug, and sometimes mess with powerplay settings to get it working properly again.
Third - Aero randomly deciding to stop working sometimes.
And now, the last straw, my left speaker has begun buzzing. My speakers were fine at first, so why NOW the change?!?!
While the first 3 things are bugs I can live with, the fourth...WHAT THE F$&%?!?!?! Does anyone have any advice concerning the speakers - preference given to things I can do myself as opposed to sending it in.
Thanks guys.![]()

The left speaker... AGAIN.
When buying m17x R3 just make sure you buy a really good headphone with it, coz you gonna need it. -
Are you using Catalyst 11.5b drivers? Cause if you do, that certain driver causes random Aero bugs for me as well.
-
Yeah, I am usually just using my headphones, but damnit, I should have the option to use my speakers as well!
And no, using the Dell drivers. I am thinking of trying out the m18X ones... -

My R3 downclocks itself to 400/900 in games after 10mins of play.Temperature is fine.

if this is a defect then i think you have the right to get it replaced, if i were you i'd be complainning to dell already. You shouldn't be the one to bear the burden of hearing ty speakers.

Someone once said that the speakers on the R3s are really bad cuz of a design defect: they put some wiring or something behind the grill, so it vibrates when we turn on the sound. My replacement one had that, and my original (the one that I have now) doesn't vibe, so it sounds perfect, albeit a little quiet.
My R3 is turning to crap...
