So now you can do some fast overclock testing with one machine doing setting 1 and the other doing setting 2 etc etc. :)

    would be nice lol
but the replacement so far is perfect.
no defects, all the edges align properly and all the keys sit nicely
my first R3 came with the screen slight to the left
the enter key was slighty raised
all this was replace but then starbut then started the random reebots and then after tech came around 5 times replaced mother board , gpu, heatsinks and so on and so one till they killed it the bluetooth stop working lol then i refused to have the pc opened again for repairs cause it had 5 repairs in a month and the pc was only 2months old.
so they sent me a replacent and on the replacement a managed to upgrade the GPU to the 6990 :)

i would call dell and ask them for the ups/fedex return shipping label. that way, they can attached a ref# and you can be sure it will be taken care of. if they don't get the defective one back within a certain period of time, look out for a huge bill.

Did that random reboot started with Dell's hard drive or after you put the SSD in?
Furthermore, did you had to change the BIOS settings in order for the SSD to work properly without BSOD ? (RAID, AHCI etc...) and did you put the SSD in slot 0? (c drive) or slot 1? (D drive lol)...
I'm not trying to be smart, I honestly don't know the answers of any of those questions, which is why I'm asking you :)

the random reboots were on booth drives , first i intalled the drive on 0 but then moved it to 1, yes i changed from RAID to AHCI when i installed
SSD , the random reboots stoped after they changed the GPU and the Mother Board. but then they killed the bluetooth they tried a new bluetooth and still the pc would no find it at all , thats why they replaced

All right but you wouldn't see the difference then between putting it in slot 0 or 1? you were basically just trying to find the origin of the reboots correct?
I ve had it, I ll try now :) later !! :p and good luck with yours :)

LoL... I just installed on port 0.... I'll try to simply switch the placement and modify booting options in BIOS hoping that'll do the trick. and I hope this will fix my 26 sec booting time on a fresh win7 pro 64bit install from my SSD xD (Only a 4 sec gain... exept of course for the fact that there is less than nothing on yet ......)

i did not even get to that, :( I turned the laptop off it installed windows update, 87 of them. so i powered it back on to check if it worked but i now get a BSOD on start up..... when you installed win7... did you have internet right away? or did you had to install the drivers first?

Clean install does not contain the drivers needed for the hardware to work. Like modem, wifi, video, bleutooth etc etc etc.

This ^^^^ :) Call or email them for a UPS / FedEx label. You supposedly have 10days to review the machine before you have to send 1 of them back.

i had no internet on the clean install, i had to dowload the intell 6300 wirelless driver in another pc, but you still have to install all the drivers 1 by 1 after no have your machine working propely and be carefull cause some SSD are not compatible with rapid storage driver so the will freeze
also after all the drivers install , if you have a SSD you should tweak the windows do make full use of the speeds on the SSD

Thanks buddy, I had a lot of attention in my other thread which I created specifically not to troll too much around xD...
I had to start all over from scratch but got it working eventually, on port 1, made the tweaks necessary, effectively cutting 5 secondsof boot time with EVERYTHING installed :p Now my computer starts up in 19 seconds... I'm such a stupid person though, I NEVER did those tweaks on my toshiba qosmio (Which had the same SSD, litterally, and same windows 7)... I feel pretty stupid lol 2 years with that toshiba without optimizing xD... Oh well lesson learned!
