    Hi guys,

Yesterday I applied settings in XTU to over clock my 4700MQ up to 3.6ghz. All went well, but upon booting into windows today, I noticed all XTU settings have reverted back to default. Same applies in my bios.

Just the one you used during overclocking. Just enter adjustments in Xtu and take a picture. No need to start them up again in Xtu. Just show them.

Sure thing. I don't remember what core voltage I used, but I know it +15 from the default.

Use hwinfo 64 and see what voltage you run standard on your cpu. then you can check out voltage that others run with their Overclocked cpu.
Are you running at max power on cpu power adjustments in windows?
I think I read about that Xtu adjustments are not stuck in reboot (using fastboot in Windows 8).
read the whole thread (How to Overclock the Alienware 18 and Haswell CPU)

You hit the nail on the head. I've got safe boot enabled. I hate UEFI.

    Hi guys,

I've managed to OC at a stable level using XTU. I've stress tested twice now for 1 hour at a time. Is there any room for improvements? My settings are displayed below.

Use benchmarking test in Xtu and testing with Cinebench 11.5, to really test stability. There are too high voltage driving. Not over 1.200mv. Look for throttling of the CPU during the tests. Show us a picture of the temperatures in the tests. Show temperatures when using hwinfo 64

    Yes Sir
Your voltage is settings to high. The temperature is normally higher with high voltage and the CPU starts to throttle.

I was looking into this for a while now. And I was reading this thread when I suddenly found it.

On my ThinkPad W540 the settings would stick upon boot if I had 'fast startup' enabled in Windows 8.x.
But this does not for Windows 7 and earlier.

    So I kept digging.

And I realised you could make the settings stick upon boot with app profile pairing.

See: Haswell overclocking and undervolting guide | Think.Scopes

I hope this helps some users. I first wanted to create a video for this. But it is impossible because it consumes a lot of time.
