Sometimes when my machine is awakened, any games I run will run at diminished speed (using the latest Dell drivers). I used to be able to disable crossfirex then re-enable and it would bring the performance back (half speed in furmark, 38 vs. 80 fps.)

Now I am noticing that when the problem exists, I clear the enable crossfirex in CCC and it does not take, it puts the check back. It does not clear the screen and make the device disconnect /reconnect sound. I have to boot to restore it to performance.

Anyone else? I am thinking about turning sleep off. Bah.

I used to have that problem once upon a time. When resuming from sleep, Crossfire would be disabled and gaming performance would suffer. If you right-click on the ATI icon in your system tray, does it now show 6 entries for graphics cards?

Anyway, I think the fix for this issue was the A01 video BIOS. Have a look at this thread for more info on how to install the VBIOS.

Once you've got the new VBIOS installed, you can remove the Dell official drivers (which are several months old) and install the latest ATI 11.2 drivers. They provide much better performance in a number of games.

As nzgeek pointed out, you need the latest vBIOS update if you have not already applied it.

You also want to see if the latest system BIOS (test version) works for you. It has fixed numerous sleep-related issues. Get started here.
