My m17x issues

I have had so many issues since I last reformatted my system. durring game play on any game the frame rate will drop from 100-10fps. I have done the following to fix this issue.

: apply new thermal compound to the gpu
: clean the heatsink & fan
: reseat both video cards
: reseat memory cards
: clean the registry
: Install updated drivers

My next step is to install the chipset drivers if I can find them. I someone can direct me to the right site.

I should've never installed windows 8. I've removed that pos from my m17x.

 

I agree. You should have waited on windows 8. The drivers for it aren't as well tested and supported as the Windows 7 drivers. But as to your issue, you may want to look for throttling issues with your CPU/GPU.

 

Maybe it's running on integrated graphic card?

 

The 9400m has been diabled from the bios.

Judging by the temps you posted I don't think it's a throttling issue. Here's a complete list of drivers, M17x R1 right?

Your dxdiag.txt file is near identical to mine. If you rolled back to the Dell iGPU driver, that could have made the problem worse. Usually the newer Nvidia drivers work better than the stock Dell ones. One thing to make sure of is that the game is running off the discrete card and not the iGPU.

 

I have the hybrid graphics disabled through the bios.

 

What about the drivers?
