    ok, who has accomplished 4K in 3dmark11 with a single 6990m without messing with Tessellation? (running the default performance bench)

    The best i can do so far (without removing tesselation) is

    3954

    @826/1235
    Cats 11.9

    i can overclock beyond this, but the score actually goes down

    wow, 4445? on a single 6990m? With tessellation enabled?

    whats your driver config? I've left everything at default in CCC. you are 500 points higher than me and your overclock is way lower

    Looks like driver 11.9 and I doubt tesselation was on. I never have it turned on, although I'm willing to bet I could probably still hit 4K With tesselation.

    If I was going to get bested in a benchmark score, I would rather it was DR than anyone else.

    Back on topic though. There is something you're overlooking. 500 points in 3DMark '11 is a pretty big margin. Maybe it is the tessellation. Try a run without it and see how close you get the DR's score.

    Thanks Turbo, I'd rep ya but apparentally gotta spread the love

    Yea, I'm pretty sure I had tesselation off, but that should be about 3-400 pts. Not quite 500 especially on a single card. I think for one your Mem clocks may be too high, but I can't say for sure. Post a screen shot so we can compare catagories. That would help.

    maybe its the overclocked CPU that is also helping...but i don't know.

    If you can 4K with Tesselation, then you are doing good

    i'm going to lower the mem clocks to 1100 and see my score, but from my experiments, on my m17x R3, memory only becomes an issue if i go over 1236. Any higher and my score goes lower

    Lol, You had to do that didn't you? +1 I didn't even bench for the top score. I benched just what I needed to to gain 2pts for T|I HWbot team. :p At that point running all the possible combination of benches gets mind boggling lol. Too much to really push it on every single bench. haha. When I get time I will try and best that score. :p

    Hehehe, thanks! Yeah, I usually push the cards while benching, I just have to :D
    But you're right, just to get points it can be much easier to do the minimum... didn't have a lot of time to bench recently, but I already have some hardware laying around. E.g. I have now a 6990m in my M15x, I hope to get my hands on an r2 board as well... :)

    lol nice. I have a desktop mobo and about 4 chips for it. It's everything else I need. I collected old chips out of recycled computers when I worked at bet buy :p, and that I will definately be putting it down with a mounted DICE pot if I ever get the time and the rest of the stuff to run the board and chips. :p

    Quest for 4k is over.

    After a clean install of the 11.10s, i cracked 4K in 3dmark11 with 800/1125 (all settings at driver defaults)

    Here is my score at 826/1250...I still dont know how DR scored ove 4400, but i'm content for now :D

    :p Yea, and you can probably push that core to at least 840. MIne will go to at least 840, but havn't pushed it yet. You should go for 840 and drop the mem a little.

    it is good to know that the machine performs as it should. The first thing I did out of the box is running 3DMarks. The first after minutes I thought I had way too low scores and was about to worry, but then figured out that was comparing a very stock system to overclocked like hell :D :eek:

    Deactivated tessalation.....didn't help much. Only gave me a p3533
    EDIT
    i didn't really fully deactivate tessalation the first time around. Now that I did, I get p3918, stock clocks

    at stock clocks and default driver settings (tessellation on) 3dmark11: P3497 so you are running perfectly fine :D

    hwinfo + undervolt = awesome temps.
    overclocked to 720/1140 @ 0.96V, maxing out at 61 C :D

    it is now my quest to reach 4K :D

    I could get 4050 or so with tessellation on. GPU clocks at 840/1200 or so, and the CPU "overclocked" about 4%. That was back on 11.8 drivers. Can probably get a bit higher now with 11.9 or 11.10.

    hmm... i uninstalled via control panel all AMD stuff, reboot to safe mode to run driver sweeper (cleared all in AMD tab). When i boot up i installed 11.10 (the one with ccc_ocd) and restarted.

    One thing to note is that i had minor issues when installing as i had to manually uninstall the intel HD drivers and then reboot to let system install the intel driver again for CCC to work. Before that, by merely installing 11.10 i would not be able to even switch on the CCC.

    The only thing comes to my mind is to try clean install again.. first delete driver in through Device Manager, then driver sweeper in safe mode, then clean the registry with CCleaner. Then install. Yesterday I had hassle reverting to 11.9, it gave installer failure but installation continued, after reboot there was driver package installed but no CCC, though it was reported to be installed.. so I ran AMD installer again, chose "uninstall", then "custom" and there I checked "uninstall CCC"., it uninstalled and then I ran AMD installer again chose install, custom, and there unchecked display driver, everything else left checked.. Only this way I could yesterday install 11.9 driver and CCC properly..

    I can not say that 11.10 isn't good. I gave me boost in some benchmarks but decreased performance in some games. Metro2033, all parts of Crysis, and some racing games perform much better on 11.9. Maybe thats because of Crossfire..

    Slick: For reference I obtained a 4051 3dMark2011 with 11.9 drivers and Tessilation ON, Sapphire Trixx 830/1130 OC

    My GPU #2 sensor got up to 82 and CPU Core 2 also 82, others 78.

    What were your temps during these runs if you recall?

    HIDETO, Go to preferances and change it to advanced view or advanced something or other. Than tesselation should show up. It really is that simple :eek:

    i installed "11-10_mobility_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl" from one of the threads.. maybe this is the problem?

    I had to do this as the one directly from AMD did not work well for mine as it was not configured for switchable graphics or sth? (ccc_ocl was about 100mb while the AMD's 11.10 was 87mb)
