This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    now, when i log on to dell and im in the (Drivers & Downloads) page. I am not able to change the operating system to Windows 8 64-bit because"Only Operating Systems that have been validated on your product will be available." and Im working with an M17x R3.. would you recommend that i continue with windows 7 drivers or should i change my search to M17x R4 to allow me to DL windows 8 drivers? sorry for being such a noob but i am confused..

    Windows 7 drivers should be just fine for the most part other than graphics card drivers. For those, I would go to the manufacturer's website and get the most up to date and stable drivers. :)
