    Hi peeps,

I was just wondering hows everyones experience and performance with running the newest latest NFS hot pursuit 2?

I'm running it on maxed out settings with everything on. I hit around 35fps during races (measured with FRAPS). The game seems to be running overall very smooth and responsive. Both GPUs also seem to be maxing out at 100% GPU utilisation as shown in HWiNFO32.

I'm running it on the AMD 10.11 drivers as well.
    Any tips to improve performance?

    Feel free to discuss.

    Cheers. :)

How do you like the game...I purcased like 3 games that need that f'ing Steam to Authenticate but in Afghan they block that junk so I can't install Black Ops, Mafia 2 and some other game bleh!!!

Yeah, I ran it at high with no AA using just one card. Seemed smooth, but that's probably due to the blur effects. I'll give it a shot with both GPUs later. Actually, I have to reinstall this game since I only tried it like. . . once.
That's brutal, dude. Sorry to hear.

    Ohss dammss bummers ey.

Yeh its pretty good so far. I like how all the super cars are given to you straight out all done up and running nice and fast. So you just get in there and chase or race. Awesome speed traveling down the tracks. Just slowly but steadily unlocking each new car and moving up the most wanted ranks.

Good luck with your format and 3d mark 06 scores.

    Cheers. :)

But there is some serious need for AA. I tried forcing aa via ccc but game crashes before loading the actual race. I read 10.10e works fine. Will try it later and report back.

I am very disappointed that there is no AA settings option in the game. When they can give AF then why no AA. I just dont get it.
I have read on some other forums that they could force AA with noticeable difference in quality by using MLAA (Morphological Antialiasing) which comes in the new 10.11 catalyst drivers. But i don't know if the drivers will install in our M17xR2 systems.
Any of you have a solution to this problem? The game otherwise looks and feels very nice. AA is required ASAP for this game in a form of an update or some hotfix.

    Hi Myxcon,

Sorry I haven't had a chance to try it out on my R1 yet. I've been very busy. Hopefully over the weekend or sometime soon perhaps.
I'm sure it should run pretty well. Just not to sure how well NFS supports multi core CPUs or not. Also not to sure if it will be able to max out on the R1 seeing as I only get 35fps odd so far on the R2. Perhaps thats just due to the AMD GPU and the drivers though.

    Cheers. :)

This game only uses 1 GPU. I have same FPS for when using single GPU or using dual GPU. I don't know why when crossfire is on, both GPU's temps change but only one is really being used. using 10.11 drivers.

I can't speak for this game, but I know some games do not work well with crossfire and get better rates with it turned off. World of Warcraft is one that comes to mind.

true, I also noticed that when enabling xf, gpu load is doesn't exceed 50%

while when not using xfire, it fluctuates between 70~100%.

nice graphics, liked the chasing and running, the solo races are kindda boring though.

I experience 20-40 fps during races.

sometimes the game just hangs i have to alt-ctrl-del and then come back and it comes alive.

all with crossfire enabled, will try to disable it and see how it goes

    10.11 amd drivers

AA causes the game to crash if forced in the middle of the game

update: yep runs alot better with crossfireX disabled, am getting 40-60 fps on crowded races (not solo)

why oh why did i get crossfire configuration *sigh*

this is crazy that all these current games can't use any type of crossfire or sli? can console gaming be so strong that there simply isnt any care at all to worry about performance on the pc?

you can enable it, and the logo of Xfire will show, but the framerates will be around 20 FPS less.

we will have to wait for an application profile, when was this game got released anyways? there is a patch for it already from the company that made it. that would enable "Rain" and "Snow" effects, apparently they left out those effects when porting the game to PC

Yeah many of these games actually can run with crossfire and both cards get used, the problem is that they actually get worse framerates. I know this title doesn't qualify this statement but for me it's mainly older games that don't work great with it, and those are the ones that don't need it anyway.

Is anyone playing NFS: Hot Pursuit with a Driving wheel peripheral? I have the Logitech Driving Force GT which works with the PS3 and PC, and have issues drifting with the wheel. I just tried it an put it up due to frustration. Looking to se if others have a similiar experience.

    Hello guys,

I don't know why some saying that this game does not support Crossfire, and why some can't turn anti aliasing on. May be I am wrong, but from my own experience, Crossfire seems to be supported because after playing some time the temperature of both cards raises, and fans' speed as well. Anti aliasing is possible to turn on, but to my eye, I do not notice any big difference with or without aa. I play on everything maxed out, but didn't try to change shadows level setting, it is medium. Cool game)

    Cheers :)

No one said it doesnt run on cross fire but it runs better on single card... I run with everything at maximum and with single card i get 45-60 fps where as with cross fire i get 30ish... some times you can tell its slow mainly on loading screens when the hints r shown... what you told about the AA is exactly what the problem is... with or without AA the game looks the same.. ie no AA... But tbh i have found it to be a little better after installing 10.11 driver or may be i am used to the jagged edges now..

Will try to run it with Crossfire disabled to see the difference..

Do you have both AA and AF in your game settings? If so, why there is no AA in my game..

I've just tried running the game with Crossfire disabled.., well I can't say this improved performance significantly, also I haven't measured fps, but one thing - the tire smoke bug disappeared with CF disabled. But is it not harmful, to fully load one card, while the second has rest? I mean the wear will be not equal.

AA is not in the game setting, my guess is that he is talking about CCC

and to really measure performance use an FPS program, i use FRAPS show fps, record video game movies, screen capture software
if you put fraps and see the FPS while playing with Crossfire enabled and disabled you will be able to see the difference, and after seeing the "FPS" numbers you will notice the choppiness / smoothness of the game more (mental thing i guess :))

Ok guys I played with the 10.12 ati ccc today and changed the anti aliasing to 8x.. this time it didnt crash the game... nice ...BUT at the cost of poor performance(on single card) didnt check the fps (will do later) crossfire is unplayable (very slow) btw... this is where you need proper crossfire support...

Edit: 4x is very playable though..

Well, I play on stock Dell\AW drivers and it runs perfectly on two cards. I get good fps depending on the weather conditions in the game, about 44-48 with clear conditions in the day, and 36-45 in the night during strong rain. The only thing that Crossfire does wrong when enabled, as I told before, is tires smoke bug.

Yep. Can confirm. No negative scaling on AW 10.9 drivers. Playing with crossfire getting 50-60 FPS
