so.. how is the game playing for you?

tbh it really sucks on my rig. i'm having to play it on 720p with most of the settings turned down, and still only getting 40 fps. and i've checked all the stuff, it's using crossfire x just fine, (up to 99% of the secondary card). i'm pretty unhappy with the performance. after playing this on the xbox i was like heck yeah, but man... this sucks

I played mine @1080p with texture high, car details high, AF 2x, no AA and everything else are medium, I've got 25-35 range FPS, its playable but poor perfomance :(

Crap. I just posted something about this in the benchmarking thread. I've literally spent five or six hours in the last two days tweaking this game. CrossFire is what's killing your fps. Shift 2 doesn't support it. If you kill shadows and AA, everything else turned up, you can achieve around 40-50fps with CROSSFIRE DISABLED at 1080p. You can force CrossFire using RadeonPro with the FEAR 2 CF profile. You'll gain a good amount of fps, depending on the track. Problem is that you're also going to get some flickering. I hope they patch this soon. I'm enjoying this title much more than the original Shift. The game looks good, but it's not exactly mind-blowing. It should run at 60fps on our computers. Many, many people run dual graphics cards. Crysis 2 and now Shift 2 with CF problems. I really don't get it.

the game uses both cards but that makes no difference, because I get the same FPS numbers with Crossfire On or Off.. that disappoints a bit

I turn off the slave one and I get about 20FPS gain with same setting, now @1080p with everything high and no AA, I'd got about 45-50FPS constantly, lol its should be more with xfire :(

I get higher fps with CrossFire disabled unless I have the FEAR or FEAR 2 profile forced in RadeonPro for CrossFire. The game really runs fine with all settings maxed accept AA and shadows, which is not uncommon. Hopefully they release a patch soon. Until then I'll deal with the flicker, or just run one card.

have you tried running the game with some gpu overclock? i was thinking of trying 800/1100 and seeing how much that helps.

I probably should have mentioned that too. 775/1075 is my everyday clock, along with a pretty healthy CPU overclock. Necro, is that a Viper with a front mount intercooler? Nice. :D

we had this convo before havent we? cause i asked u if u had a 1 or 2g?

it's a 95' dodge avenger. that is a "viper style" front bumper. built 420a, forged internals, 8.8:1 cr, stage 2 crower cams(241/241), stage 3 port/polish head, pt lifters/rockers, 50/50 water/meth injection, 26 psi on a t04e .50 trim (47 lbs/min, 2.122/3.00 inducer/exducer), 3" turbo back no restrictions mandrel bent, 8 injector set-up stock primary's (about 210cc), 60# secondaries (about 610cc), the fmic is the Hahn Big Core 24x9.3x3.5" (core only) can't remember. prem gas not e85. spec stage 4 un-sprung clutch with the 3.55 neon final gear mod. HKS SSQs bov, Star long style mani....

stuff like that. havent dyno'd it with all this, but with 2.5" exhaust, smaller fmic, no water/meth, stock cams and 22 psi it dialed in at 348 whp. i think i'm well into the 400 range right now. took it to the track with this setup, but pretty much traction = no go untill 4th gear lmao. so quafie lsd, stage 4 axles, and slicks are next up. and i'm running out of room with this turbo. possibly a gt35 is up next, but i haven't decided. like the idea of quicker spool of a BB turbo.

If yes, how is your performance?

With shadows and AA disabled a 6970M should run Shift 2 at 60fps easy. The game is not optimized for CrossFire, so I only run one 5870 when I play it. Frame rates hover in the mid 50s for me. You may even be able to run some shadows or a bit of AA, who knows.

Crysis 2 had its flicker resolved but the FEAR profile force was needed for decent performance really....

I was thinking of getting Shift 2 but not if it's going to play crud.

with nvidia 285m SLI 1920x1200 maxed (2x AA) i get 45+fps with a tweaked SLI profile i can get 55fps+ but there are a few graphics glitches!
we need an update from EA & new ATI/NVIDIA profiles
