So My brother's M17 (bought in June) had issues right off the gate and crashed last week,
I finally got it from him and one of his roommates decided to re-format and try to reinstall windows on his own.. thus locking out the restore partition.
So I Used his DVDs to re-isntall windows and Drivers. (he had Pressed Discs for Windows7 and one for the drivers. these were not made with AlienRespawn.
However, there is one peice of software missing, and I cannot find a Download link for it.
He claimed he had advanced audio tuning options (SRS etc) for his IDT Audio Controller.
I checked his "Files" Backup he made, and found Creative Folders for AudioFX and Something for the Webcam.
(edit: i tried the Audio Application from the m17x links and it wouldnt install, should i remove the drivers for the IDT sound chip and re-install the IDT drivers from the M17x Links?)
i cannot find these files on alienware's or dell's website.

Thank You for Purchasing AlienWare -
The Revelator Notebook Prophet
Yep, that's an R3. This is the only software/driver I use or am aware of for the IDT Audio applet. Drivers and Downloads. If that's the one you now have, then I think that's all there is. I would uninstall IDT Audio through Control Panel>Uninstall a Program if a prior version is present before installing this one. Right click on the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback devices to configure.

Yeah thats the one I installed when I Re-Did hi system from scratch ( the Windows 7 DVD they gave with the laptop had none of the drivers in it.)
I wonder if I choose to burn the Alien Respawn DVD if that will restore it to what he had on it when he got it.
He had options to Do SRS and all that. Now all he has is Bass Boos, Virtual Surround, Room Equal, Loud Equal.
He had file backups on his external, and he had two folders.
/Program Files (x86)/Creative/AudioFX/
Was the main one with dlls. and a application that wouldnt run.
i tried to download the application for the m17x, it claims to have installed, but the folders and programs werent there (my guess is it checked the driver and saw that i was running a newer driver)
I Wonder if I uninstall and install the January Driver, if that will re-install any applet, as the January Driver is almost 5MB Larger. -
Im gonna do the old driver, as it seems to have more files..
Mainly "IDTNGUI.startup" which isnt in the March release.
also, i dont see any webcam drivers for the R3, should I use the M17X Driver for that?
