Hey everyone, I've somehow forgotten the password to my M17x, I didn't make a recovery CD so that's not an option for me.

I've found a website that enables you to reset the password with a Bootable CD, but there's a couple of steps I need help with before I start

My Laptop has a Nvidia Raid Stripe Setup with 2 300GB hard drives.

    I need to know

    1) Where the windows system partition resides (eg, disk 1 or 2)
    2) The PATH to the windows system directory and registry

I hope someone can help so that I can get back to using my computer n not have to lose all of my work!

    Thanks in advance

You should ask the others about this, but that bootable CD sounds fishy :S (to me )... Soo no recovery is fine it would have put the same windows, with same password anyways. Do you have the windows DVD though?
Why don't you plug your C drive in the D drive slot of another machine and find out those adresses? this would also allow you to save that work that is on C drive before going to drastic measures. Or maybe you can by cables to have your HDD plugged in USB? (Cables or docking bay)
Then install windows DVD, only after saving all your stuff from C.

For one, any discussion of password bypass is prohibited by NBR. Second, the windows partition would be on both disks if it's a raid0 setup. You should read the NBR forum rules prior to moving forward.
