I'm planning to purchase an Alienware m17x from HIDevolution.com - Specializing in customized computers, electronics, and mobile devices for gamers and professionals. I have never bought any laptop from an online seller. Im not sure if this seller is a reliable seller or not, are they selling brand new and quality laptops? They also offer some more options for ram that are installed by hidevolution and those options seem to be very reasonable to me. But I still worry, has anyone ever purchased Alienware laptops from this seller, please leave your opinion about this seller and your advice.
    Thanks alot :)

I just purchased Orion Backpack for M17x as it is not available in my country. It was delivered without problems and quite fast to my surprise.

Do a search on the forums regarding HID - there is plenty of information here regarding peoples experience with them.

If you cant find the threads on the site search do a search on google and make sure you include "NBR" or "Notebook Review Forum".

Personally I used them (and I live in the UK) and they were fine. However you need to make sure you know all the costs (VAT, Import TAX, Shipping abroad, Warranty exchanges etc)

Has anyone ordered with any option installed by hidevolution such as ram or something else? because I wanna choose kingston hyperx 16gb 1600mhz ram installed by hidevolution. That ram is even cheaper than the stock ram installed by Alienware. Do you guys think that would not affect the original quality of the laptop?

Without RAM/HDD upgrade's. You can do that yourself and probably cheaper.

If HID adds RAM or an HDD/SSD that is not offered by Dell its not covered by the Dell warrenty.

Nobody knows about the GPU's yet.

correct, upgrade it yourself, HID keep the stock hardware like ram cpu's etc something I overlooked when I bought mine, I assumed the original hardware would be sent along with the system but it wasn't

Im pretty sure they cant do that - since HID will add their own markup to the original price supplied by Dell you own all the original components. Buy it stock, ask HID to upgrade parts if you wish and tell them you want the components they removed as you legally own them.

hey, I wanna purchase a m17x r3 from HID, I would upgrade the ram to kingston hyperx 16gb 1600mhz which is $250 (installed by HID), while the stock upgrade of 16gb ram 1333mhz which cost $350. I dont know why the stock upgrade is much more expensive than the HID upgrade.

If i go for kingston hyperx 16gb 1600mhz, would it affect the performance or quality of the m17x??? You are using an m17x with kingston hyperx ram, can you tell me how u have been experiencing with?
